Before Reading-
Please note that the Great War is a mature Yugioh Fanfic. This being said, it isn't yaoi, yuri, etc... It just involves excessive violence and cussing. Also, this fanfic has dueling of a...different variety. Also, there is a site that's 4 chapters ahead of this (on 5) and I will update this one when I update the fanfic on the other site. So there. Read it! Also, please PM all comments to meh!
Chapter One

"Heh, nice one Kao! But you left you're left flank open! Go, Red Eyes Black Dragon, attack!" Apollo smiled as Red Eyes would attack. "Now, the trap card! Bullet Curve! If there isn't a monster to the left or right of the monster infront of Red Eyes, you take 1500 damage but my attack is negated!" Kao's life point meter would drop to 0. Apollo smiled. "Nice but you'll never catch up to me!"
Present Day
An explosion occured and the birds flew everywhere. Get up.[/color] A voice triggered inside of Apollo's head. It was a voice he had heard before, but he never put it to a face. I said, get up![/color] A sudden pulse of energy into Apollo's brain. His eyes widened. He gasped for breath.
"Welcome Apollo. Thanks for waking up." A blonde girl with her hair neatly bundled holding a briefcase walked up to Apollo. She opened the case. Inside were Red Eyes Black Dragon, Red Eyes Black Chic, and a face down card. Apollo turned it face up, but it was blank. "That card is a prototype. Why don't you focus on it." Apollo stared at it. "Nothing's happening...hm, maybe you aren't the one." The girl look dissapointed. Apollo sighed. "Let's take a walk." Apollo willingly obeyed.
Apollo opened the door and took a step outside. He smelt a terrible gas and debris was everywhere. "What the hell happened here?" He saw something face down and touched it. It scurried away. "That thing looked like Kuriboh..."
"It was Kuriboh."
"What?" Apollo looked at the girl like she was insane. You can't TOUCH a monster.
"A lot has happened in five years. You see, the new owner of Kaiba Korp had used a millenium item to fuel their latest technology. Something strange happened. Now, monsters are real. They still listen to us though." I'm sure they do... Apollo thought to himself. He wasn't believing her. Apollo then searched for his deck but couldn't find it.
"Uh..." The girl smiled but kept walking. "Right then." Apollo followed her.
Another Explosion. More birds flew. "WHAT THE HELL?" Apollo looked around and saw smoke, then ran to see what was going on. The girl tried to get him, but he ran to fast for her. He stopped in awe at what he found. A Blue Eyes White Dragon was standing on top of a sky scraper. It was charging another blast at a civilion. A voice shot into his head. The same voice that woke him up.Stop this.[/color] Almost instinctively, Apollo threw the Red Eyes Black Dragon. A shining light casted down on the card. Fire came that steamed away even the ocean by the sky scraper. "Red Eyes! Rise!" Apollo's eyes were yellow now. It was as if he was possessed. "Destroy Blue Eyes!"
