My names Derek Williams and I’m seven-years-old, I’m stuck at my house with my little sister Jayden while my parents go out. I’m not very tall yet, but I do have dark hair. My little sister, well, I always take care of her. Tonight is our parents anniversary though so its really special, so I told them I’d watch her so they wouldn’t use their money on a babysitter. It was really dark outside, and it was about Midnight when mom called to tell me they were on their way home and that I could go to sleep. It had only been a few hours later when I was woken up by police in my room. They asked me to go down stairs and sit on the couch with Jayden. “Where’s mom and dad…?” I asked them. “Well son…that’s why we we’re here. Your parents were in a car crash on the highway. Their car had a blow out and it cause them to run into the railing and off onto rocks and flip…They were in critical condition when we found them, but they pasted away on the way to the hospital…I’m sorry.” Jayden was already in tears, and I was trying hard to be strong for her. “Where are we going to live? W-We cant live by ourselves.” I stuttered a little bit. “Well boy, we’ll arranged for you to live with your Aunt Nelly.” The police man answered him, “She’ll be here in the morning for both of you.” He said, dipped his head, and walked out the back door. And that was it, my parents were dead and we were alone. I stood up and gently picked up Jayden ‘s hand, “Come on Jayden, lets go to sleep now. Everything will be okay when you get up, okay? Come one.” I soothingly said to her. The day after the crash, today, we were to pack our things and go live with our Aunt Nelly. She normally hated us, but since we have money now she loves us. Of course. It was only 8 a.m. when Nelly came to pick us up. “Come on kids! Lets hit the road!” She was yelling enthusiastically through the house. “ Come on Aunt Nelly, Its only 8 and we still need to get our stuff together. Jayden’s not even up yet..” I said sleepily rubbing my eyes. “Well then get her up and pack your bags, your coming to live with me!” She said with her booming voice. So I walked back up stairs and went to Jayden’s room. It was bright and colorful, but It didn’t seem so bright today. It was if even the colors were mourning for our parents. “Get up Jay, we got to go on a trip today. It’ll be a long trip though so you’ll have to pack a lot of your clothes. We’ll be stay with Aunt Nelly though.” I told her, trying to force back the tears. “What about our school..? And our friends..?” She asked, still half asleep. “We’ll go to school where Aunt Nelly lives for a little while, and make some different, new friends. Okay?” I told her. I wonder how long she’ll believe it, I asked myself. She got out of bed finally and I helped her pack her bags. I didn’t grab many things she had gotten from mom and dad though, because I didn’t want to remind her of them all the time. “Children, are you ready yet?” Aunt Nelly hollered up the stairs. “Yes, Aunt Nelly!” we yelled back in unison. We dragged our stuff down stairs and started to put it in Nelly’s truck when all the sudden, we heard a hiss. We had forgotten about our cat, Stitches. Jayden started to go get Stitches when Aunt Nelly scolded her and told her to leave it behind. We will not have a flea-bitten animal in this house!” She had told her, which made had her cry even more. We already knew that after Aunt Nelly said something, she meant it. So I grabbed Jayden’s arm and led her back to the car, “It’ll be okay, Jay.” I whispered softly to her.

Aunt Nelly would tolerate anything. Once we got to her house Jayden and I got our bags and followed Aunt Nelly into her house. Once we got inside Aunt Nelly showed us to our new bedrooms. Of coarse the rooms Aunt Nelly showed us were very small, but I guess we will have to deal with it now. Aunt Nelly’s house was pretty big but it wasn’t nearly as big as our home. The first thing we explored was the living room. The table in the middle of the room was claw footed. The walls in the room were tan with creamy white trim, bookshelves, and fireplace and in the fire place were wood would normally be was a unique flower pot with plants in it. With a unique design hanging above it with plants on either side. There was no couch, but four cushioned chairs. A small antique table on the side of one of the chairs with a glass vase full of white roses. After we explored the living room we immediately walked into the dining room were the first thing we saw was the big china cabinet, fairly large table with four chairs surrounding it and a chandelier above it. One wall was one huge window that didn’t have any shades on it. The other three walls were about the same color as the living room but they were a little bit more yellow and it was all golden-brown trimmed. On the same wall as the China is a small oval shaped picture, hanging. It shows a scene of a farmers garden and a tractor. Hmm. That’s odd. I didn’t think she’d be the type to like farmers. We walked through the dining room up the stairs to our new bedrooms. We went into my bedroom first. It had brown walls and hardwood floors like the rest of the house did. On the walls we plain with pictures in different sizes. The bed was low to the flower with a black comforter, two brown pillows, one white pillow, and a folded up white blanket at the foot of the bed. On either side of the bed there were little brown tables that were as low as the bed they have white tops. One of them had a white vase with some kind of flower in it and the other table had a book on it. There was a brown dresser that had three long drawers. That’s suppose to fit all my clothes in it.. We walked out of my room down the hallway to Jayden’s room. He bed sat higher than mine did and she had a white comforter, two big white pillows, and one small pink pillow in the middle. The wall were the head of the bed was, was pink and the other three walls were white. Above the bed hung two medium sized mirrors. She also, had two small dressers on either side of her bed which were brown. They had a white lamp on both of them and a clock with some plants. She had a pink and white rug underneath her bed. index.cgi

She had a pink and white rug underneath her bed, along with a small chest, with a thick layer of dust covering the top, lay the end of the bed. The brushed steel brackets had become dull from the thick layer of dust. index.cgi
